Belkin Now Has an Even Better Switch 2 Charging Case

Last year, Belkin dipped its toe into the gaming accessories market with a pair of cases designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, one of which came with a power brick that nestles into a space in the case. At CES this year, it debuted a new version, the Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2, that now integrates the battery even more tightly.

Like last year’s Charging Case, the Case Pro’s battery is a 10,000mA affair, which, if it’s anything like its predecessor, ought to get you somewhere around 1.5 charges. (When I reviewed the older case back in October, it was nearly two full recharges.) It outputs at 30 watts, which is higher than the 20 watts of the previous case’s battery, but not particularly meaningful given that the Switch 2 doesn’t really charge at more than 20 watts for significant stretches of time, anyway.

The big difference is the stand portion, which has a USB-C plug to make it just a tad easier to connect to the battery than the older case, where you had to fish the cable out to plug it into the console. Also, there’s a small display on the front of the new case’s lower half that shows you how much charge the power bank has left—with the older case, you needed to lift the case to see a small display on the power bank itself. It’s a small touch, but appreciated.

Like a lot of other Switch and Switch 2 cases, there’s a familiar flap with elastic pockets for Switch games, and a netted pocket that’ll be good for holding small items like wired earbuds. There’s also a small AirTag holder in there, a returning feature from Belkin’s other Switch 2 cases.

The Belkin Charging Case Pro is already up for sale, but at $99.99, it’s definitely not cheap. Whether it’s worth a buy probably comes down to whether the stand functionality and charge display on the front of the case is worth the $30 extra it costs versus the original Belkin Charging Case.
