Anova has now unveiled its new Anova Precision Oven 2.0, an upgrade of the original Anova Precision Oven. The new steam oven comes with a built-in high-resolution camera that should be able to identify what dish is inside and then suggest the best cooking method for it. The food is then cooked using what’s supposed to be a unique combination of moist and dry heat. According to Anova, the steamer can be used for everything from porterhouse steak and whole chicken to bread, pastries, mashed potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, salmon and more.
Anova says the high-resolution camera will also soon be updated with more features, such as reminders when the oven needs a thorough cleaning and warnings if a dish is cooked incorrectly. The oven also has an optional app with recipes, but these are locked behind a subscription that costs $1.99, or about $20, a month, or $9.99, or about $100, for a year.
The Anova Precision Oven 2.0 will start shipping on 6 December 2024 and is priced at $1,199 from Anova. The Anova site will also ship it to the UK, and its price in GBP is £1,109.
