A huge auction of Jim Henson Company puppets, props, and memorabilia has concluded, further cementing our grim feeling that The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series, which had hundreds of items on offer, really will go down in history as a Netflix one-and-done. However, fans can take solace in the fact that the items commanded a princely sum from collectors: nearly $3 million total.

According to a press release from Julien’s Auctions, “the marquee item of the auction” ended up being Age of Resistance‘s “grand full-size Crystal of Truth … the monumental translucent crystal purple prop that served as the heart and source of all life on Thra sold for a heart-pounding $89,600, well over its original estimate of $20,000.”

That’s a lot of scratch, and it didn’t end there. The sale also included several full-sized original Age of Resistance puppets, including Gelfling full-body puppets that went for $51,200 and $32,000 each, well over their original estimates of $10,000 each. Julian’s also found new homes for a Dousan Sailor Gelfling puppet (sale price: $22,400); a “Sleepy” Podling puppet ($22,400; it had been estimated to go for $8,000); and an animatronic, radio-controlled Thrushpog puppet ($8,960).

Elsewhere in the sale, multiple Fraggle Rock puppets from the original series were auctioned off (to snag your own Doozer, you would’ve needed to pony up $57,600). There was also a squirrel puppet from Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas ($25,600) as well as an original production script ($12,800) from Henson’s nostalgic holiday special.

And, yes, the Muppet fans showed up: “Miss Piggy’s iconic lavender suede heels worn in The Great Muppet Caper‘s beloved bicycle scene” (accept no substitutions) pulled down $22,400. The schoolroom busts that make a memorable appearance in Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey through the past in The Muppet Christmas Carol also commanded handsome sums ($16,000-$19,200), and a “Fozziwig & Mom” sign went for $12,800.

The press release further notes that “proceeds from the auction will support the work of the Jim Henson Company’s Archives,” so hopefully whatever is left after this clear-out will be well cared for—and maybe even displayed for fans to admire at some future point.
